    Courtney Elizabeth Whitmore[3] is a student at Blue Valley High School, the superhero Stargirl, as well as being a founding member & leader of the Justice Society of America.

    • Cosmic Staff-based powers: When she is using the Cosmic Staff, Courtney Whitmore gains multiple superhuman abilities.[1]
      • Coma Induction: By holding the Cosmic Staff to someone's forehead for an extended period of time, said person gets placed into a coma.[7]
      • Flight: Using the Cosmic Staff, Courtney Whitmore can fly or levitate by either gripping or sitting on it.[1]
      • Forcefield Generation: By using the Cosmic Staff, Courtney Whitmore has the ability to create an energy field with enough power to negate gravity.[7]
      • Stellarkinesis: Using the Cosmic Staff, Courtney Whitmroe has the ability to create stellar energy which can be used against her opponents via an energy blast.[7]
        • Hallucination Negation: Using the Cosmic Staff, specifically its light energy, Courtney Whitmore was able to negate hallucinations & visions created by her opponent, Eclipso.[8]
        • Photokinesis: Using the Cosmic Staff, Courtney Whitmore can generate light energy that has the ability to temporarily blind or distract her opponent.[9]

    • Peak Physical Condition: Being a former vigilante and a gymnast (formerly), Courtney Whitmore is in an excellent physical condition which enables her to perform complicated maneuvers such as flips and aerials easily.[9]
      • Acrobatics: Having been a former gymnast who has won awards while attending at Sherman High School, as part of their gymnastics team.[10]
      • Hand-to-Hand Combat: Growing up, Courtney Whitmore became a blue belt in Karate which makes her an experienced fighter. [1][11]
        • Staff Fighting: Once she acquired the Cosmic Staff, Courtney Whitmore quickly learned how to use it, taking advantage of her gymnast skills as well.[11]
    • Tailoring: Courtney Whitmore has shown ability to sew, as she did when she altered Starman's suit, creating the Stargirl Suit.[7]

    • Cosmic Staff: Courtney Whitmore uses the Cosmic Staff (nicknamed Cosmo) while on duty as Stargirl. The staff was created by Ted Knight, with the intention of giving the being using it light energy-based abilities.[7]
    • Stargirl Suit: Courtney Whitmore wears a protective suit while on duty as Stargirl.[7]
